Trauma is the emotional response to a distressing event or series of events that overwhelm your ability to cope. This can include experiences such as physical or emotional abuse, accidents, natural disasters, or the loss of a loved one. Trauma can manifest in various ways, including flashbacks, anxiety, depression, and physical symptoms like headaches or fatigue.
It’s important to recognize that trauma is subjective—what may be traumatic for one person might not be for another. Understanding your unique response to trauma is the first step in the healing process.
